5 ways to care for door and window hardware

As time goes by, our doors, windows and hardware will become old. At this time, we need to carry out maintenance. Here are some simple and practical cleaning and maintenance methods:

2. Stainless steel handles and other stainless steel "hardware" can be wiped with a brightener to add shine.

3. The performance of moving parts such as hinges, wheels, and casters may be reduced due to the adhesion of dust during long-term movement. Adding one or two drops of lubricating oil every six months or so can keep them smooth.

4. Pay special attention to the direction of the handle when rotating it, and avoid using excessive force. Children should be taught not to hang on the door handle and swing, as this can be dangerous and may damage the inner door.

5. If the lock core is not turning smoothly, you can scrape a small amount of black powder from a pencil lead and gently blow it into the lock hole. This is because the graphite component in it is an excellent solid lubricant. Do not drip lubricant into it, as this will make dust more likely to stick to it.
